This is a step by step tutorial on how to install Focus Joomla QuickStart on a web server.
The recovery procedure is very similar to the Joomla installation process and if you are familiar with it, then it will be easier for you to understand the essence. In order to restore the site we need to upload our backup archive to the root directory of the site. Delete all unnecessary files, leaving only the archive. Just be careful, do not remove anything unnecessary. If you unload a site for the first time on hosting, i.e. if there was no site in this directory, then you need to delete the file "index.html", which is usually created by default by the host when creating the site folder. After all, unpack this archive.
Also we should clean our database (DB) from the tables. You can do this in PhpMyAdmin. Select all the tables of your database and delete. Just be careful! But here again, this is if you already had a site and there are already some tables in the database. Depending on the hosting of the database table, you can not clean it. The Akeeba installer will do this during the installation process. But, if you get the error you will still have to do it manually.
Open the browser and enter the address of your site in the address bar. We immediately jump to the script installer site from the backup - Angie. The address will take the form - http://example.com/installation.
If everything is OK, then immediately go to the second step by clicking on the "Next" button.
At the second step - "Database recovery", we enter the data to connect to the database server.
Database type - it's better to leave MySQLi by default, because this is more preferable.
The name of the database host is usually localhost.
User name - database user
Password - DB password
Name of the database - here we enter the name of the database
If you have correctly entered the connection parameters to the database, the installer will create tables in the database and make corresponding entries. A window with a process level indicator will appear on the screen and upon completion we just need to click on the "Next Step" button to go to the third step.
In the penultimate step, we need to edit (if necessary) the data about our site. In the first group of "Site Settings" fields, if you need to make changes, we are interested in the first three fields: The name of the website; Web site e-mail address; The name of the sender of the e-mail Web site.
Next, in the Super Administrator Settings group of fields, we need to change the super administrator's e-mail and password to log in to the joomla control panel. If left unchanged, you will not be able to enter the admin panel.
Click on the button "Next" and go to the last step. At the last step we will receive a message stating that the data about our site was successfully written to disk and below it is suggested to delete the "Installation" folder.
We click on the "Delete installation directory" link, the installer will delete the "Installation" directory in the root of our site, and a window will open that will tell you about the successful removal of the Installation folder and will be asked to click the "Go to the site" button to go to the main page of the site.
